Track Profile
The Coastal Motocross Club leases a parcel of private land in the Dial Range Recreational Reserve, behind the township of Penguin, for their club track called ‘Blackwood Park’. The track’s setting is picturesque, surrounded by densely forested mountain ranges and rich, red clay soil. The Coastal Motocross Club formed 30 years ago, initially as a dedicated club for junior riders. Now that they have moved to Penguin – 90 minutes’ drive from Launceston – the club has grown and caters to both junior and senior riders.
Blackwood Park is a national-standard motocross track with world-class technical obstacles, an in-ground irrigation system, 40 drop-down start gates and excellent spectator viewing. It is a 1.5km clay track with manmade obstacles, including tabletops, whoop sections, step-ups and drop-offs. There is also access to free dirt bike trails on the neighbouring Forestry Tasmania land.
Please note the neighbouring Forestry Tasmania trails are open every day of the week from sunup to sundown and are free to ride.
