The Transmoto 8-Hour at Wangaratta is a unique, team-based dirt bike event that’s somewhere between a recreational trailbike rally and an enduro race. Just 250km northeast of Melbourne sits the picturesque township of Wangaratta, based in a region that’s best known as the home of the Ned Kelly, spectacular scenery, cycling, historic cathedrals and gold mines, classic old pubs and world-class gourmet food, wine and craft beer. But if you’re into dirt bikes, Wangaratta is also a riding heaven; a town at the confluence of the Ovens and King rivers, which drain the northwestern slopes of the Victorian Alps and create prime riding conditions for much of the year. And that’s exactly why this legendary slice of well-watered terra firma in the northeast of Victoria was added to Transmoto’s event calendar in 2019.

The Transmoto 8-Hour at Wangaratta is staged on 3000-acre private property that’s situated between Wangaratta and Bright; a property that boasts a mouthwatering combination of bush trails, technical hills and undulating grasstrack, with the Victorian High Country’s snow-capped Mount Beauty, Falls Creek and Mount Hotham serving as an eye-catching backdrop.
According to Trevor Jenvey, the course builder from the Alpine Motorcycle Club, “This incredible property allows us to build a great course for intermediate riders and up. It has a good mix of flowing enduro riding and a few technical sections, with ‘chicken lines’ to ensure no one gets stuck. After all, we want everyone to enjoy the track, have fun, and leave the Wangaratta event with big smiles on their faces.”
The Wangaratta region is rich in wine and hops and there’s a range of craft breweries, wineries and pubs all within a stone’s throw of the 8-Hour’s venue, so be sure to book a few days either side of the event to soak up the local flavours, sights and sounds.
Race it or ride it; run a motocross weapon or trail sled; fly in and fly out or make a weekend’s surf-and-moto roadtrip out of it with your mates … take your pick. But be sure to be part of what has already established as a must-do annual moto pilgrimage for racers and riders alike.

This all-new Transmoto 8-Hour team-based enduro event is to be held at Upper Fine Flower, Clarence Valley, NSW. Located west of Maclean, approximately two hours from Coffs Harbour and three-and-a-half hours from the Gold Coast, the venue is right in the heart of prime riding territory.

In partnership with the Clarence Valley Council and a local farm operator, we have secured a pristine 3000-acre patch of prime private property with an abundance of rolling green grass hills and a solid mix of firetrail and singletrack. And it’s completely off the grid – no phone reception, nothing close by; just you, your mates and one hell of a weekend away making braaaap noises and slapping virtual high-fives from a safe distance.

🌞 TOOWOOMBA Round 5 – 5/6 June 2021

The Transmoto 8-Hour at Stroud was first staged in 2015. It’s a unique, team-based dirt-bike event that’s somewhere between a recreational trailbike rally and an enduro race. If you Google “Stroud, NSW”, you’ll see a bunch of info about the town’s International Brick and Rolling Pin Throwing Contest. And that small-town obscurity is just the way the locals like it. Cos if they were to spread the word about the region’s rolling grassy hillsides, every dirt-bike dingo this side of Alice Springs would be on its doorstep in an instant!

Not far out of Stroud, in a little valley called Gunns Gully, you’ll find a picturesque 1300-acre parcel of prime countryside – a working cattle property that was home to the inaugural Transmoto event at the venue in 2015. And ever since, its custom-built 14-16km loop has offered riders an intoxicating blend of gum-lined trails and undulating grasstrack, with 360-degree views that stretch for miles.
Race it or ride it; run a motocross weapon or trail sled; fly in and fly out or make a weekend’s surf-and-moto roadtrip out of it with your mates … take your pick. But be sure to be part of what has firmly established as a must-do annual moto pilgrimage for racers and riders alike.

The Transmoto 8-Hour at Coffs Harbour is a unique, team-based dirt bike event that’s somewhere between a recreational trailbike rally and an enduro race. Staged at a premium private property in the motorcycle-friendly township of Ulong (in the Coffs Harbour hinterland, where the 2007 Australian 4-Day Enduro ran to rave reviews), the Transmoto 8-Hour kicked off for the first time in 2019, and firmly established itself as one you don’t want to miss.

Transmoto Track Director, Lyndon Heffernan, who ran Detour Tours in the Coffs region for many years, still raves about the region and its riding terrain: “Coffs and the inland townships of Ulong and Dorrigo have long been notorious riding destinations for off-road fanatics in Oz, so it’s been a great opportunity for Transmoto to expand its Enduro Events into ‘Big Banana’ territory. I still think about the memorable 4-Day we ran in the area in 2007, and especially the grasstrack special test that spectators could watch from Ulong Ex-Services Club.
For the inaugural 8-Hour at this epic private property in 2019, track builder Hayden Timms created one of the best loops we’ve ever seen, with the perfect combination of grasstrack and bush trails to suit riders of varying skill levels.”
Underlining community support for the event, the Ulong Ex-Services Club welcomes patrons, public and fans to watch the action from their public viewing platform, with access to a full range of food and beverages. The Ulong General Store has all the coffee, food and supplies you’ll need, plus assist with the P&C food stalls at the event to ensure all participants are well fed all weekend.
